Where Do Our Industrial Components Come From?

At KLJ Trading, most of our industrial automation components come from professional contacts, industrial auctions, asset disposals, and company clearances across Denmark and Northern Europe.

Rather than purchasing standard retail stock from wholesalers, we often acquire components directly from companies that are closing facilities, replacing production equipment, modernising machinery, or dismantling complete production lines.

Components from closed or upgraded production lines

When a production line is shut down or replaced, the available equipment often includes much more than the machinery itself.

Companies may also have shelves full of spare parts that were purchased to keep the production line running. These components may have remained in storage for years without ever being installed.

This can include:

• PLCs and I/O modules
• Sensors and switches
• Relays and contactors
• Power supplies
• Frequency converters and motor controls
• Operator panels
• Safety equipment
• Pneumatic components
• Industrial networking equipment

Many of these products are still new and unused, although their original packaging may show signs of storage, handling, labels, dust, or age.

Used components removed from working machinery

We also acquire used industrial components from machinery and production lines that were operational before dismantling.

In these cases, the equipment may be removed because the company is upgrading its machinery, changing its production process, relocating, or closing a facility—not necessarily because the component has failed.

A used PLC, sensor, contactor, power supply, or operator panel can therefore still have many years of service remaining.

Whenever information is available, we describe whether an item was working when removed, tested after removal, or sold without additional testing. The exact condition is stated in each product description, so customers can make an informed purchasing decision.

Why industrial surplus is valuable

Industrial companies often depend on machines that have been operating for many years. Even when a component has been discontinued by the manufacturer, the machine may still be productive and valuable.

Finding the correct replacement part can therefore be much faster and more cost-effective than replacing or redesigning the entire system.

Industrial surplus also helps usable equipment remain in circulation instead of being discarded simply because a production line has been upgraded or closed.

Every acquisition is different

No two clearances are exactly the same.

One acquisition may contain unopened spare parts from a maintenance department. Another may include used components removed from a complete production line. Some lots contain modern automation equipment, while others include older or discontinued parts that can be difficult to find through normal distribution channels.

This means our inventory changes continuously. Many items are only available in quantities of one or two, and once a particular component is sold, we may not be able to source the same model again.

Sourced through professional channels

Our sourcing is built around professional contacts, auction houses, industrial companies, contractors, and businesses handling machinery and asset disposal.

Most of our inventory originates from Denmark, but we also source selected equipment from companies and industrial facilities elsewhere in Northern Europe.

This sourcing model allows KLJ Trading to offer a broad and constantly changing selection of new and unused and used industrial automation components.
